Yuletide!
Some haphazard Yuetide recs! Probably with more to come later.
I really should have done this before, and this year I have no excuse. The archive is overflowing with good stories for so many underappreciated fandoms - it's like fanfic nirvana has opened up.
First, the one written for me!
Ladyhawke: Careful the Tale You Tell - A very lovely sequel in which the Mouse, who still has running conversations with God, and who has taken up a new and entirely appropriate line of work, is unwillingly dragged back into the tale of Isabeau and Navarre. I love it to pieces, and if my Yuletide Santa is reading this, thank you, thank you, thank you!
And onward, in reverse-alphabetical order. (I started at the end of the archive and am slowly working my way to the top while skipping around a lot. Not even halfway through yet.)
Venture Brothers: The Zombified Corpse of Christmas Present - Something much sweeter and Sheila-centric, dealing Christmas in the Cocoon and the fallout of the Season 3 finale.
Take on Me: Hunting High and Low - This is one of my favorite music videos of all time, and if you aren't familiar with it, you actually have the unique opportunity to read the story first, delight in the strange, compelling comic book universe that the writer has created, and *then* track down the video on Youtube and have yourself a real "A-HA" moment!
Pushing Daisies: One Minute, Counting - A great character piece for Emerson Cod that's funny and touching and exactly right.
Fairy Tales: Cloak and Dagger - An amazingly creepy, unsettling Little Red Riding Hood sequel.
Eerie, Indiana: The Kid Who Shot Marshall Teller - Plays with all the different levels of reality in the "Eerie" universe and even goes metatextual - all with a very confused Dash X front and center.
Dr. Seuss's One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish: Out of the Dark - A chilling horror story most Seussical. Seriously people, this one's got teeth.
Dark City:Wandering - A prequel that nicely captures the nightmarish City and the Strangers and makes me want to watch the movie again.
